Elvis Presley will be doing all adjustments Wednesday, October 30th this year as he has a very strict rule in his contract about not working on Thursdays. I overheard that he purchased organic yummy earth gummy bears and sour beans to hand out...
ADAPTOGENS
A potential answer to your question about how to hold your adjustment longer...
This section should be called: "What I learned in Nashville, TN and the Connecticut Conferences." I wasn't just vacationing my time away the first two weeks in September, I was actually sitting in classes getting my continuing education credits... And... Some of the stuff I learned was 'just what the doctor ordered'.
As you know, all I do in my office is detect and correct subluxations. I don't sell any products or services in my office. I just provide Chiropractic Adjustments.
Having said that, I heard two lectures from a Chiropractor in Knoxville, KY that were VERY intriguing about a class of supplements/herbs called Adaptogens. I sat through several hours of class time learning about their effect on the body and I still need to do a bunch more research of my own to fully explain how they work. In essence, these herbs " are non-toxic plants that are marketed as helping the body resist stressors of all kinds, whether physical, chemical or biological. These herbs and roots have been used for centuries in Chinese and Ayurvedic healing traditions, but they’re having a renaissance today. Some, like holy basil, can be eaten as part of a meal, and some are consumed as supplements or brewed into teas." (from the Time Magazine article). I've looked at the research and there's a ton of it out there. It takes an advanced degree in organic and microbiology just to mottle your way through the studies but suffice it to say that researchers have found that adaptogens induce increased attention and endurance in situations of decreased performance caused by fatigue and/or sensation of weakness. reduce stress-induced impairments and disorders related to the function of stress (neuro-endocrine and immune) systems.
You can review many of these scholarly articles on PubMed and I found THIS STUDY (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3991026/) really interesting!
Many very vocal health advocates have advocated Adaptogens like Dr. Oz (https://www.doctoroz.com/gallery/what-you-need-know-about-adaptogens?gallery=true)... Dr. Axe (https://draxe.com/nutrition/herbs/adaptogenic-herbs-adaptogens/)... Dr. Mercola (https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2018/04/09/adaptogens-for-adrenal-support.aspx) and on and on...
I am actually taking these Adaptogen supplements from the company that the lecturer founded called Stress RX. Some of you tried the CALM bars Dr. Pete Sulack gave me to pass out in the office and have given me very positive feedback. They went quickly primarily because they are the best tasting, cleanest, fully organic protein bars I've ever seen. I wanted to 'guinea pig' myself first on the bars and supplements and so far so good. I am really not into selling anything in my office but I'm going to ask for your feedback as to whether or not you would like to try StressRX. I'm going to see if there's a way you can get it directly from him, if not I will pray on whether or not I want to keep it in the office for you to purchase. Listen to Dr. Pete explain it a little below...
One cool thing about his company StressRX is that all the profits are used to do his missionary work through www.Matthew10.com international ministries (also his foundation).
Alright, enough about all that Adaptogen stuff! How about a short video animation that I stumbled across that really explains Chiropractic well and is entertaining too? https://youtu.be/JPJYdMCUQPE
