Dr. Jay's Confession
Dear Friend,
I want to give some credit where credit is due. So, perhaps a confession can help clear the air so there's no misunderstanding. Before I talk about my confession, though, let me say a few other things first.

Let me start by explaining the photo above. Well, I'm the one on the left. In 1984 I was a pre-med student at the State University of New York at Albany. I was absolutely sure that I wanted to practice medicine. One day, a friend of mine on the football team asked me to attend a pre-chiropractic meeting. I went along but I did so reluctantly and with intentions of confronting the speaker about all the outrageous claims I had heard chiropractors make about curing all sorts of diseases. That evening I finally understood what my friend Stewart had been trying to teach me about chiropractic. I learned that chiropractors don't cure anything, they merely correct the spine and allow the body to heal itself without drugs, surgery or medications. He explained that it wasn't the bacteria or virus that made us sick, it is the body's inability to fight those things in our environment because of a weakened immune system. This made so much sense to me that I decided to go to Palmer College of Chiropractic.

After 8 years of college, I got out into practice in January of 1992 and saw all sorts of successes in my office from headaches, sciatica, disc problems, whiplash, carpal tunnel, sinus problems, numbness and tingling, chronic muscle spasms to complex neurological problems including epilepsy. Even after all these successes, I still thought that I was just 'popping' bones.

One day, my receptionist called from Children's Hospital in Cincinnati and told me that her son Stephen had fallen after an epileptic seizure on the way to school and that he was in a coma. After close to two days, they still couldn't find the cause of the coma and Mary convinced me to come up to the hospital and take a look at him. We sent the nurse out of the room and I examined Stephen. I found a subluxation in his neck (a misalignment which puts pressure on the nerves). I went around to the head of the hospital bed and adjusted his first cervical vertebra. At first, nothing happened. With a look of disappointment, Mary went to the phone on the wall to call her husband. All I remember her saying was, "Dr. Korsen is here but...". Just then, perhaps a minute and a half after the adjustment and almost two days into the coma, Stephen opened his eyes and his first words were "I'm thirsty."

That night, I became a chiropractor. I knew that moment that I wasn't popping or cracking bones. I correct the nervous system and thereby allow the body to function at it's full potential. Because of what I saw that night, for the last 32 years, I have been on a mission to help as many people as I physically can by doing what I believe I was put on this earth to do.

The two beautiful kids in the picture are my children Ryan and Lindsay. They're far from being children now at 27 and 30 years old and they have lives of their own. They were both adjusted minutes after they were born and they knew enough to ask for an adjustment when they felt like they may be getting sick or after a wrestling match or sometimes just to stay 'tuned up' and functioning optimally.

It's strange how life is, because now people are coming to me with their children. Most parents come to me first with headaches, lower back pain, sciatica, disc problems, carpal tunnel, chronic pain, whiplash, shoulder pain, leg pain, allergies, ear infections and numbness and tingling in the hands or feet to name a few and then they bring their families in.

Here's what some of my patients had to say recently:
"One visit down and I can’t ever imagine going anywhere else! The most genuine, caring and funny Doctor! Felt like family on the first visit! Kim at front desk is the best as well! I have never felt so welcome and comfortable at any doctor visit ever. Brought my grandson who was treated with such patience and compassion! Get on the path to feeling better and go right now!"- Joanne R.

"Dr. Jay is so knowledgeable and personable! I immediately felt better after my first visit (first visit in the new location that is… I just had to track him down and drive over 20 miles to get here because he’s that good at what he does!!). Highly recommend checking this place out for yourself!" -Dalyn R.

"Best chiropractic experience I've ever had! After my first adjustment, I was pain free. I didn't even realize how much pain I had been experiencing. Jay didn't know anything about my history and through his diagnostic equipment, he was able to pinpoint all the right areas. Your experience will go beyond getting an adjustment. Jay and Kim will put a smile on your face. They are very welcoming and relaxed. They really care about every person who walks through their doors! You will not only be blessed physically from your visit, but also emotionally and mentally as well." -Micah A.

"If you are looking for a wonderful chiropractor, this is the one. After my first visit he had me pain free. I could walk up and down stairs, squat down, sleep on my side, all without pain. I have suffered for years with pain. Even walking and sitting was painful. I tried injections, 4 different chiropractors, physical therapy but no significant relief. I am so grateful I found him."- Robyn W.

Several times a day my patients thank me for helping them with their health problems. But I can't really take the credit. My Confession is that I've never healed anyone of anything. What I do is perform a specific spinal adjustment to remove nerve pressure, and the body responds by healing itself. We get tremendous results. As simple as that.

35 Million Americans no longer have health insurance and we have found that those that do have ever decreasing benefits and ever rising deductibles and copayments. That's where I come in. I have significantly lower fees so that more people are able to afford the care they need. A whole week of care in our office costs what I have seen people pay for one visit elsewhere. Another way to save... studies show that chiropractic can double your immune capacity, naturally and without drugs. So you may not be running off to the medical doctor as much. Studies show that people actually pay less for their long-term overall health care expenses if they are seeing a chiropractor.

Great care at a great fee...
You are going to write a check to someone for your health care expenses, you may as well write one for a lesser amount for chiropractic. If you watch both the new patient orientations, you will receive my entire new patient exam for just $60. That's with paraspinal thermal imaging (a picture of your back without radiation), consultation, examination, and in most cases, your first adjustment... the whole ball of wax. But "further care" is super affordable and can cost as little as $40 for a routine visit.

Great care at a great fee...
Please, I hope that there's no misunderstanding about the quality of care just because I have lower fees. You'll get great care at a great fee. My qualifications... I'm a graduate from Palmer College of Chiropractic, the very first chiropractic school in the world and a graduate from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a degree in biological sciences. I have over 30 years of experience and I've been entrusted to take care of tiny babies to professional baseball, football, basketball, hockey and soccer players. I have volunteered my time as team doctor for my local high school football teams and never charged them for the care during the season because it was my pleasure to take care of them. I just have a lower fee to help more people who need the care.

I am often complimented on my great staff but another confession is that I don't train them to be great, I just hire great people. Our office is both friendly and warm and we try our best to make you feel at home. We have a wonderful service at an exceptional fee. Our office is called Bright Light Chiropractic. We're located at 1158 Hooksett Rd in Hooksett, NH (In the big log cabin building with Shooter's Outpost). Our phone number is 603-434-3456 and my email is drjaykorsen@gmail.com.
