May 2021 Newsletter

Dates to remember:

We will be closed on Monday, May 31st

We will be closed June 14th, 15th, 16th, and 18th

As you may already know, I spent 8 days in Florida caring for my mother and stepfather last week. With the help of God, I was able to accomplish everything that I set out to do there. This is a picture of my mother Susan with her husband Hercules (yes, it's true, that's his real name) and their CNA Tiera. They both are going through some pretty significant health challenges. I appreciated your prayers when I went down there and my family appreciates your continued prayers as they navigate their way through her unexplained blood loss/ anemia and his newly diagnosed lung and lymph cancer with chemotherapy beginning this coming Tuesday.

Let's Focus On GRATITUDE

Of the nearly 11K patients I've taken care of here in Rhode Island, there are many among you that are realtors. There are too many of you to name and I love all of you. Having said that, I received a newsletter in the mail that was written by my patient who is a realtor and I know her well enough to know that it came straight from her heart. It struck me as such a magnificently written letter that I knew I just had to share it with you here. It struck a chord with me. It's kind, it's generous, it's caring and it's genuine. Caitlyn's newsletter captured what I wanted to say to each of you this month. It's about Gratitude but I'll let Caitlyn explain that to you... "Around the 1st of this year a friend and fellow agent from Florida sent me a simple sheet of paper with the encouragement to take a few minutes to remember what I am grateful for and write it down. I've heard of this practice for years but had always thought it wasn't for me. I was too busy, this seems silly, other things are taking priority right now, of course I was grateful but what good would this habit do for me? As I felt the need to rise above the chaos around me, I pulled that sheet of paper out and tried it. Some mornings all I was thankful for was my loving, uncomplaining husband and that the sun was up. But then I began waking up just thinking about what I was truly grateful for and that was when my mental process began. Throughout the day this habit helped me focus, rise above the issues that the day brought and kept me in a good mental attitude no matter what challenges the day had. A few months later I realized that if I didn't take the 5 minutes to do this exercise first thing in the morning that my day would go off the tracks along with my mood and focus. Doing this simple exercise was a game changer for me so much that I wanted to share it with the ones I care about. That is why I'm sending this note off to you with the encouragement to try it. Small ideas often make large changes in our lives. If you can't use this you may be able to pass this idea to another person who can. I hope you find this helpful as we all navigate our way through this year. Stay Safe and Well, Caitlyn Wass Residential Properties, Ltd. Cell: 401-207-4365 CWass@ResidentialProperties.com "

Do I Practice What I Preach?

I get asked all the time if I actually practice what I preach regarding getting adjusted, exercise and taking my Standard Process supplements. The answer is YES. I get my spine checked every other Monday night at our Rhode Island Chiropractic Council meetings and on Thursday morning at our Men's Bible Study. I work out on my Bowflex and Schwinn IC4 bike with the Peloton digital APP at least twice a week but more recently to build strength and endurance. And every morning I take the following supplements: Zinc 30 and Vitamin D3 (1000 IU) from Pure Encapsulations (not from Standard Process) to boost my immune system against viruses including whatever is going around right now. Turmeric Forte- to decrease inflammation and reduce joint pain Boswellia Complex- to decrease inflammation and reduce joint pain Cod Liver Oil- to decrease inflammation and increase the effectiveness of the Boswellia Complex by increasing absorption because Boswellia is fat soluble. Ligaplex 1- to speed the healing of ligaments (injured from working out and adjusting 60-100 people a day) Glucosamine Synergy- supports repair of the joint cartilage Circuplex- to increase peripheral circulation Myoplex- to support healthy heart and muscle tissue and repair Symplex M- supports healthy male endocrine function (yes, there is a Symplex F for females) Ashwagandha Forte- Supports healthy sleep cycles, mood booster, strength enhancer and way too much more to even touch on here (Check out March Newsletter or blog on our website for an entire article I wrote about it) Cataplex B-Core- supports cardiovascular health and increases energy Adrenal Complex- supports healthy function of the adrenal glands effected by stress. That's what I take daily in the morning before I leave for the office. I only take one of each. It may seem like a lot but it's what works for me. You are unique and shouldn't just take whatever I take but if one or more of these sound like "what the doctor ordered", you can order your own directly from Standard Process by getting your own account at https://my.standardprocess.com/Patient-Direct/patient-registration and use the code NR4JQE... OR Now you can go to my other website and order most supplements directly https://www.keepitcleansupplements.com/order-supplements but it will cost a few dollars more there. It's less expensive to get your own account but my website is there to make it more convenient even though not all the herbs are available on my Keep It Clean Supplements website. Your choice.

NEW PATIENTS:

Many of you have asked about us accepting your immediate family as new patients. As you know, I haven't accepted any new patients in approximately 2-1/2 years. For a limited time, we'll be accepting new patients that are DIRECTLY RELATED to you if you are an existing patient. This means that I'll accept your children, spouse or parents IF THEY WATCH THE NEW PATIENT ORIENTATION AND UNDERSTAND THAT I DO NOT TREAT ANY MEDICAL CONDITION AND THAT I DO NOT TREAT PAIN IN THE OFFICE. IF THEY ARE IN PAIN, THEY NEED TO GO TO THEIR MD. Chiropractic is about healing better, not necessarily feeling better as you already know. They are welcome to come to the office for wellness care to maintain their health by having their spine checked for subluxations and adjusted if one or more are found.

For those of you that have people that you want to refer in, Dr. Suzanne will be in our office on Wednesdays until her own practice is up and running in Warwick. She will be doing the initial visit for new patients in our office. All new patient visits must be scheduled at least one day in advance. After their first visit with Dr. Suzanne, they are welcome to get adjusted by me (Dr. Jay) going forward. Remember that new patients will not be seen without having watched the videos on the first visit page of our website, filled out the quizzes and paperwork prior to coming to the office unless they are under 15 years of age.

To become a new patient, have them follow the 4 steps (in order) on the first visit page of our website- https://www.backtohealthri.com/first-visit

OK, how about something funny?

Have we learned anything since The Spanish Flu of 1918?

You be the judge:

And now may God bless you and keep you free from dis-ease and stress. May His face shine upon you. May He grant you the ability to discern The Truth from the lies. May He give the leaders in our government the strength to tell the truth and follow God's law as they attempt to create man's laws. Lord God, we know that there isn't one among us that is sinless and we are no exception. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that have trespassed against us. Please, Lord, place your hedge of protection around our loved ones as we strive to do Your will. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

In Health and Faith,

Dr. Jay, Lori, Roberta and Kathy
