May 2020 Newsletter and Hours

Updated: Apr 29, 2020

As you know we have been OPEN REGULAR HOURS for the last month and will continue to do so.  We are still "By Appointment Only" and we have set up a "BOOK NOW" button on our website which can be accessed from your computer or your phone.  This feature allows you to see all the available appointments for any given day up to 30 days in advance.  Once you book your appointment, you will be given a unique link back to the booking program which will allow you to cancel or reschedule your appointment for another day or time if need be.  People seem to really like this feature and it's a huge time saver for our Chiropractic assistants which frees up the time needed to keep the office clean.

Each appointment block is 10 minutes which gives us time to sanitize the room between patients and gives me a chance to wash my hands and take notes before the next patient.  Up to 3 people (from one family) can book in a single time slot but if you have more than 3 people in your family, we ask you to reserve 2 consecutive time slots.  This has been working out well with little or NO WAIT.

Here are some dates to remember that the office will be closed:

Saturday May 9th, May 30th and June 20th

Monday May 25th (Memorial Day)

I know everyone has a lot of questions about this virus and what the right thing to do to keep your family safe.  I think this will clear it all up for you.

If you could go back 4 months before the virus started what would you tell yourself?

People have been asking me about vitamins to boost the immune response once subluxations are removed by an adjustment.  The answer is Vitamin A-C-E and Zinc.  Most of those are explained in this video.  Please note that although this video endorses increasing protein from animal sources, I disagree and advocate a diet primarily composed of fresh vegetables and fruit.  To each his/her own I suppose but the research I think makes most sense endorses a plant strong diet.

The gyms are closed so here's a way to stay fit in a small space. This is my favorite exercise video and it was an integral part of my healing routine when I tore the disc in my lower back so it's safe and effective and has my SEAL OF APPROVAL!  Try it, you'll love it!

Have you been having trouble communicating with your spouse since you've been spending more 'quality quarantine time" together.  Here's some advice from Lucia and Uncle Vinny. (Warning: parental discretion advised)

At some point, I had to make a decision between an N-95 mask and this cloth mask with a Bible verse printed on it.  I chose the mask with the Bible verse on it.

Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

I'd like to leave you with a few more COVID-19 Thoughts...

2019: Stay away from negative people. 2020: Stay away from positive people. The world has turned upside down. Old folks are sneaking out of the house, and their kids are yelling at them to stay indoors! This virus has done what no woman had been able to do.cancel all sports, shut down all bars, and keep men at home!!! Do not call the police on suspicious people in your neighborhood! Those are your neighbors without makeup and hair extensions! Day 7 at home and the dog is looking at me like, "See? This is why I chew the furniture!" Does anyone know if we can take showers yet or should we just keep washing our hands??? I never thought the comment "I wouldn't touch him/her with a 6 foot pole" would become a national policy, but here we are! Me: Alexa what's the weather this weekend? Alexa: It doesn't matter - you're not going anywhere. I swear my fridge just said "what the hell do you want now?" When this is over, what meeting do I attend first.Weight Watchers or AA? Quarantine has turned us into dogs. We roam the house all day looking for food. We are told "no" if we get too close to strangers. And we get really excited about car rides.

In Health and Faith,

Dr. Jay, Kathy, Roberta, Elli and Lori

PS- I kept this newsletter on the 'lighter' side.  I think we all need a little more LIGHT, LAUGHTER, PEACE and LOVE in a world that has temporarily become a little too dim.
