How The PulStar Works, And Why I Love Using It
Have you ever wondered what’s actually happening when we use the PulStar on your spine?
Here’s the simple version.
Your spine is made to move. When one of those small spinal bones doesn’t move well, we call that a subluxation. That can interfere with how your brain and body communicate.
The PulStar gently checks each area of your spine to see how it’s moving. If a joint is stiff, the screen shows red. If it’s moving normally, it shows green. It compares your movement to thousands of scans, so we’re not guessing.
If we see red, the PulStar delivers a quick, gentle series of taps to that exact spot. It’s fast, precise, and controlled, not forceful. The PulStar adjustment simply removes the interference. The Innate healing ability that God created within you does the healing.
Here’s what makes it powerful. As we adjust, the system keeps scanning. When the motion improves, red turns to green in real time. That’s how we know the joint is moving normally again.
And if your scan is green before we even begin? You know what that means. Cowbell time. You’re holding your adjustment and don’t need one that day. That’s a win.
We don’t rely only on a computer. I still check posture. I still feel your spine with my hands. Technology supports what I see and feel, it doesn’t replace it.
Why do I love it? Because it’s gentle. It’s specific. It’s consistent. It gives clear before-and-after feedback. It builds confidence. It helps you see what’s happening, not just feel it.
My wife prefers being adjusted with it. I do too.
We scan. We adjust if needed. We confirm the change.
Whether by hand or with advanced technology, the goal is the same, help you and your family function at your very best.
Why “Metabolic Health” Is Everywhere Right Now, And Why It Matters
If you’ve been paying attention lately, you’ve probably heard the term metabolic health more than ever before. It’s in podcasts. It’s on the news. It’s all over social media. But what does it actually mean?
In simple terms, metabolic health is how well your body turns food into energy and keeps things balanced, like blood sugar, inflammation, and body weight. When your metabolism is healthy, your body has steady energy, clearer thinking, better sleep, and stronger immunity. When it’s not, we often see fatigue, brain fog, stubborn weight gain, and chronic inflammation.
Here’s the powerful part.
Most metabolic problems do not happen overnight. They develop slowly, quietly, over time. Just like spinal problems. Just like posture changes. Just like loss of motion in the spine.
Health is rarely lost in one big dramatic moment. It’s usually lost in small daily habits.
The good news? It can be rebuilt the same way.
Better sleep.More movement.Real food.Strength training.Walking after meals.Drinking water instead of sugar.
Small daily choices add up.
And here’s something people often forget: your nervous system plays a major role in metabolism. Stress affects blood sugar. Tension affects digestion. Poor sleep affects hormones. When your spine is not moving properly and your nervous system is under stress, your body has to work harder to stay balanced.
That’s why regular chiropractic care matters even in conversations about metabolism. When your nervous system is functioning well, your body adapts better. It handles stress better. It regulates better.
You do not have to overhaul your life in one week.
Start with one small change. Then build on it.
Your body was designed to heal, adapt, and thrive. It just needs the right inputs and fewer interferences.
Health is not about chasing the newest trend. It’s about consistent, intentional living.
Let’s move well.Let’s think clearly.Let’s function optimally.
The 12 Seasons Of New Hampshire
When I moved to New Hampshire about five years ago, I thought I understood seasons. I was wrong. Where I came from we had four. Up here in the Free State, we have at least twelve. There’s winter, then “still winter,” then fake spring when everyone gets excited before it snows again. Then comes mud season, which is less a season and more a condition of your car, your shoes, and your dog. After that we get black fly season, which feels like the state bird has teeth, followed by construction season when orange cones bloom along the highways. Then lake season arrives and half the state disappears every Friday. And of course, leaf peeping season, when traffic doubles and locals pretend they’re not impressed by trees they’ve seen forever. Please forgive me as I know I've forgotten at least a dozen other seasons not including Third Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, Freeze In, Freeze Out (IYKYK), Maple, B18 Runway season, Bike Week, Fair season, Old Home season, Apple Picking, Cider Donut season and a "wicked lot more".
What I’ve learned is this: people here don’t complain about the seasons, they prepare for them. Snow tires go on early. Wood gets stacked like a competitive event. Flannel counts as formal wear. Even in the middle of third winter, people are outside hiking, ice fishing, and cheering in twenty-degree weather like it’s normal. I may not have been born here, but I’ve learned that in New Hampshire you don’t wait for perfect conditions. You adapt. You layer up. You keep moving. You don’t cancel life because of mud. You don’t panic because of snow. You don’t complain about black flies, well maybe a little, but you still go outside. There’s a quiet toughness here. A steady resilience. A mindset that says, “This is the season we’re in. Let’s handle it.”Health works the same way. There are seasons of stress. Seasons of busyness. Seasons where life throws a little “still winter” at you just when you thought spring had arrived.
The people who thrive aren’t the ones waiting for perfect conditions. They’re the ones who prepare, adapt, and stay consistent
.Maybe that’s the biggest lesson I’ve learned up here in the Free State. You don’t control the seasons. But you can control how ready you are for them.
From the Bottom Of My Heart, Thank You For Adopting Me Into The Free State Of New Hampshire! -Dr. Jay
Heavenly Father,
As we step into this new month, we thank You for the gift of life, breath, and the ability to move. Thank You for bodies that are designed with wisdom, balance, and the ability to adapt.
Help us to be good stewards of the health You have entrusted to us. Give us discipline in our daily habits, consistency in our routines, and the patience to build strength one day at a time. Remind us that wellness is not an accident, it is cultivated through small, faithful choices.
Grant us clarity of mind, steadiness of heart, and energy for the work You have called us to do. May our nervous systems be calm, our posture strong, our movement free, and our rest peaceful. Teach us to listen to our bodies and to honor them as the temples You created them to be.
As the days grow longer and signs of spring begin to appear, renew us from the inside out. Help us to move forward with intention, gratitude, and purpose.
May we walk in alignment, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
We'll See You In The Office This Month
.In Health and Faith,
Dr. Jay, Kim, Kerrie, Tammie and Lori
