What Is the Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment developed by Dr. Larry Webster, designed to reduce nervous system stress and imbalance in the pelvis during pregnancy. Dr. Jay didn't just take a course on it, he was trained directly by Dr. Webster himself.

Being Webster certified means Dr. Jay met a defined standard of training in this specific technique, not just general familiarity with adjusting during pregnancy.

Our Approach During Pregnancy

We don't treat pregnancy discomfort, and we don't diagnose anything. What we do is check for subluxations, misalignments that interfere with proper nervous system communication, and correct them using gentle, technique-specific methods appropriate for a pregnant body.

Many expecting mothers find that a nervous system functioning without interference helps their body adapt through the physical changes of pregnancy. We're not here to promise outcomes. We're here to remove interference and support your body's own ability to adapt.

If you're wondering whether chiropractic care is safe during pregnancy, that's a great question to bring to your first visit, and one we're always glad to talk through honestly.

Caring for Infants and Children

When we see a child in our office, we're typically checking the spine to catch and correct a problem before it becomes one, not correcting damage that's already there. That's the entire philosophy behind pediatric chiropractic care at Bright Light: prevention over correction.

We don't treat colic, ear issues, bedwetting, or growing pains. We check for and correct subluxations so a child's nervous system can function the way it's designed to, during years when their body is developing quickly and constantly adapting.

Dr. Jay has personally checked his own two children for subluxations since they were minutes old, and has been caring for infants and children in his practice since 1992.

A Practice Built for Families

Our office was built with kids in mind, not just tolerated. We're home to a huge, well-loved Thomas the Train set and plenty of other non-electronic toys, so children have a place to feel genuinely comfortable from the moment they walk in.

Up to two kids under 18 are seen at no charge on the same visit as a parent. Up to three additional children cost just $45 for the added time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Dr. Jay actually Webster certified, or just familiar with the technique?

He's genuinely certified, and was personally trained by Dr. Larry Webster, the technique's founder, not just taught about it secondhand.

Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?

This is worth discussing directly at your first visit, where we can talk through your specific situation. In general, we use gentle, technique-specific methods appropriate for a pregnant body, and we never treat or diagnose, only check for and correct subluxations.

At what age can a child start seeing a chiropractor?

Dr. Jay has checked infants for subluxations since the day they're born, including his own two children. There's no minimum age.

Do you treat colic, ear infections, or bedwetting?

No. We don't treat or diagnose any condition. We check for and correct subluxations so a child's nervous system can function properly. Some families notice changes in these areas, but that's the body doing its own work, not something we're treating directly.

Are kids really free?

Yes. Up to two kids under 18 are seen at no charge on the same visit as a parent. Additional children are just $45.
