It Breaks My Heart...

Dear Friends and Family, As of September 30th ( the last day we can legally practice in our state without proof of a vaccine) I will be taking a sabbatical of at least one month but perhaps up to 3 months to decompress and take a wider view of what's going on in this state and to evaluate where I want to serve God by serving His people through Chiropractic going forward. If the mandates change going forward, I will consider staying and practicing in this state. If they do not, the State of Rhode Island will force my hand and I will have to sell everything I own in this state and move to a state without oppressive mandates. You have no idea how much it breaks my heart to have to put that in writing but Lori and I feel this is the best way forward. I have consulted with my attorney and believe that if I continue to practice after Oct. 1st they may suspend or revoke my license or worse yet, arrest me for practicing without a license (which is a felony in this state), it will put my licenses in New Hampshire and Florida in jeopardy. I just can't have that happen. If there is a large retroactive fine for practicing, it will put me in financial jeopardy. Speaking from experience having fought BCBS in federal court, If I have to defend our religious exemption in court, even if we win, that will cost me more than I have in the bank. I just don't see a good way forward in this state with the mandates. Many have asked why I won’t “Just take the vaccine”. My reasons are MANY but the line in the sand is because of my faith. What Good is it to gain this whole world and lose your soul? (Corinthians 3:16-17, James 4:17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.) Many people have asked me to suggest another Chiropractor for them. In a recent poll from the Chiropractic Society of Rhode Island, 70% of the chiropractors surveyed said they did not agree with the vaccine mandate which means that potentially 70% of chiropractors will be out of business on October 1st. Unfortunately, you will have to use your internet search engine to find a chiropractor near you and then ask if they are open. Know that my heart is heavy and I will do my best to hide that as we try to brighten just a few more lights by detecting and correcting vertebral subluxations in the name of Jesus Christ before we are forced to shut down by the very restrictive mandates which the state has imposed on all healthcare workers. If you feel so moved, write your legislators and tell them how you feel about this and perhaps attend the rally at the statehouse on Friday, October 1st at 3 PM.
