GOT COVID FATIGUE?  You're Not Alone!

Hey, do you feel as though you've had enough of this virus and wish it was all over?  I've got a secret... SHHH.... Don't tell anyone... I'm Freaking Tired Of It Too!  Actually, about a week ago, it literally brought me to tears when I saw the absolute fear in the eyes of a young parent in the office when her 2 year old pulled the mask off her face.  Another patient was afraid we wouldn't let her into the office because she forgot her mask at home so she wore a plastic produce bag over her face covering her nose and mouth.  We immediately had her remove it! It's heartbreaking when I see children confused and scared about what's going on and it's even more heartbreaking when I see grown adults becoming paralyzed by the often confusing, scary and misleading information they're getting on the news.  I'm equally concerned about the degree of censorship on the internet being perpetrated by corporations like YouTube, Facebook and the like. Deaths from this virus are not the only casualties.  Many casualties that have been largely overlooked as a result of our response to this virus include an increase in suicides, drug abuse, domestic violence, job loss, the derailment of our education system, a decrease in public health services, and an inability to see your doctor in person.  Personally, I have NEVER seen the office as filled with people that are presenting with Subluxation Patterns that are clearly stress related.  The demand to get an appointment has led to the need to stop accepting new patients, increase our hours and see more people while balancing that need with days off to allow my own body to heal from the increased patient volume.

OK Enough With The Problems.  Here are some SOLUTIONS:

1. TAKE THE COVID-19 10 DAY CHALLENGE-  For 10 days Don't Watch The News.  That means ANY and EVERY form of news.  Turn off the TV News, The Internet News, The Radio News, ALL THE NEWS.  In addition, don't even peek at any social media including (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, ALL of it!  You can do anything for 10 days, right?  You can do it!  I did it and my sky got bluer.  Life Got Better.  I found that I had more time to do things that really mattered and the fear mongering on the news lost it's grip on me and I felt FREE again.  I personally challenge you to try this for 10 days.  It will help not only you but your spouse, your kids and all those around you.  Do it.  What could you possibly lose? 2.  GET ADJUSTED REGULARLY-  I'm well aware that the people that tend to read this newsletter are the ones that come to the office every 7-14 days and you already know the benefits of being adjusted regularly.  But, for those who have been sitting on the sidelines, being adjusted decreases the effects of stress and boosts the immune response.  Study after study shows this and I explain how chiropractic adjustments reduce the effects of stress in the New Patient Orientation so I'm not going to go into it here.  I appreciate that you come to our office to get adjusted but if you can't get to our office JUST GO TO SOMEONE.  There are lots of good chiropractors listed on my website on the First Visit tab if we get too busy to see you soon enough.  YES, it's that important to have your brain connected to the approximately 70 Trillion tissue cells without the interference caused by a vertebral subluxation.  OK, enough said about that. 3. EAT A CLEAN DIET AND TAKE YOUR VITAMINS-  Eating well means eating an anti-inflammatory diet.  Eliminate or reduce the MEATS, SWEETS, WHEAT and DAIRY from your diet.  Also, take Vitamin C, D and Zinc as well as Echinacea and Elderberry to help you fight off any infection that might come your way.  Don't forget to drink plenty of water too! 4. GET PLENTY OF EXERCISE- Do what you love. Virtually any form of exercise or movement can increase your fitness level while decreasing your stress. The most important thing is to pick an activity that you enjoy. Examples include walking, stair climbing, jogging, bicycling, yoga, tai chi, qi gong, gardening, weightlifting and swimming. 5. GET 7-9 HOURS OF SLEEP- While sleep requirements vary slightly from person to person, most healthy adults need between 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night to function at their best. Children and teens need even more. And despite the notion that our sleep needs decrease with age, most older people still need at least 7 hours of sleep. 6. PRAYER AND/OR MEDITATION IS MENTAL HYGIENE- You don't need a degree in rocket science to meditate.  It can be as simple as sitting quietly for a few minutes.  Try this simple 3 minute meditation with Depak Chopra.  If you would be interested in a meditation class in the office, my friend Chris Curren has given classes on meditation for decades and I would be glad to start a sign-up list for him to teach a class if there's enough interest.  Reply to this email if that is something you would find value in.  Have you had trouble with prayer in the past and just don't know where to start?  Start with The Lord's Prayer... 'Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory Forever.  AMEN.'"

7. Treat your face mask like your underwear:

So Many Corona Virus Jokes out there, it's turned into a PUNDEMIC!

Things were not that much different during the Spanish Flu of 1918 regarding masks, were they?

Until we see you in the office, know that you're being prayed for and that we hope you are Shining Brightly during this temporary abnormal.

In Health and Faith,

Dr. Jay, Roberta, Kathy, Elli and Lori
